DdDd invites you on an auditory journey powered by digital technology, traversing time from millennia past to the present moment. D stands for major key, d for Debussy’s half note; D for the solfège "Re," and d for digital. Together, DdDd embodies the infinite possibilities of sound. In 2024, what sounds are we chasing?
From lounging on a sofa listening to vinyl, to wandering the streets with a Walkman; from physical albums to on-demand streaming and custom playlists; from wired headphones to noise-cancelling Bluetooth earphones—soundscapes have evolved into portals. They allow us to escape the moment or immerse ourselves in freedom, liberated by the medium wherever we are.
As digital evolution redefines the auditory world, humans have created sounds never heard before. Once again entrusted with curating this transformative exploration, ULTRACOMBOS has crafted a multi-faceted exhibition that visualises sound, offers interactive experiences, and captures its essence. Under the theme "DdDd," we invite you to power up your ears and embark on this auditory odyssey of the digital age.
The exhibition unfolds across seven thematic units, charting the intersection of sound and technology:

From everyday moments to cutting-edge technology, from mediums to creators, the exhibition explores sound’s transformation through history. By weaving in iconic examples and historical insights, it invites visitors to experience how the digital age has reshaped the world of sound—through their ears.
Beyond classic music mediums and creators, the exhibition hides scattered musical staff symbols throughout the space, encouraging visitors to take out their phones and join the interaction. In unexpected corners of the exhibition, participants will uncover hidden game clues. By collecting these clues via their phones, they can unlock various sound experiences of different scales.
At the end of the journey, your collection progress will generate a personalised instrument, transforming your phone into a portable creative tool. Even better, it allows collaborative creation with other players, merging individual journeys into a shared musical experience.
In the final experience, visitors are invited to step up and take control of a massive sound-interactive installation that envelops the entire exhibition space. Rotating through three modes—"Synth," "Choir," and "Timeline"—the installation continuously alters the musical atmosphere. Accompanying this, dynamic projections respond to the music you create, visually bringing your composition to life.
Here, everyone becomes a creator, exploring how music and visuals intertwine to craft memories and evoke emotions, making the connection between sound, image, and feeling deeply personal and impactful.
